Renovations, Etc., LLC—a general contractor in the Kansas City area—was founded in 1998 to specialize in residential remodeling and construction. Over the years, we've expanded to include light commercial remodeling as well.
NARI certified
Owner Mike Pottinger is qualified as a CR (certified remodeler) according to the high standards of the National Association of the Remodeling Industry (NARI). An active member of the Kansas City chapter of NARI, he has served on the board of directors as the national board representative.
Rick Ramey, a member of the Renovations, Etc., staff since 1999, is a NARI-certified CLC (certified lead carpenter).
NARI certification is a challenging process requiring extensive knowledge of the remodeling industry and a commitment to professional conduct and continuing education.
Lead-paint certified
We believe it's important to keep up with what's happening in the remodeling and construction industry.
For example, beginning April 22, 2010, federal law has required contractors who remodel homes that were built before 1978 to follow special EPA (Environmental Protection Agency) practices to prevent lead contamination. And, yes, you'll be happy to know that Mike and Rick are both certified to properly handle lead-paint issues if you have a pre-1978 home.
